As usual my good intentions fell by the wayside this year. My project went pretty well though. The blogging just didn't get done. I have not picked my projects for the next three months - but I have a feeling they will be baby-centric.
For February I did the Wii Shape with Jenny McCarthy - it was horrible.
For March the project was to read non-fiction, not nearly as bad as the work-out.
April was my birthday month - I think the theme was relaxing and drinking. I also started a new job, which was horrendous. I also started a Child Birth Education certification course.
May was spent learning everything about cars.
June was spent learning to live without the sun (due to a newly developed sun allergy).
July was spent trying for better living through pharmaceuticals - great results - crazy ride.
August saw yet another new job and an adjustment to 2nd shift and learning more about distribution.
September was Positive attitude month - everyday focused on a new positive living quote.
The project for October was to take the Marriage Challenge. This was a concept much hyped a few years ago suggested by a minister to strengthen the relationships of the couples. The challenge was to put the focus back on your marriage by having physical intimacy every day for 30 days - so it once again becomes a habit - a needed aspect of the marital relationship. Since Ken's birthday is in October I thought - what better month to try this?
Since we celebrated our 6th anniversary last January and I turned 30 in April Ken and I had discussed trying for children. Those of you who know us know we have had pregnancy loss and I was hesitant to actually try. The thought of parenting scared me too (still does). However, I had been told many times getting pregnant would be difficult - and maybe impossible for me. So we went off birth control in September. Statistically, with my medical conditions and medications we were expecting 6 months to 1 year to conceive (probably w/ medical intervention after 6 months).
Surprise! We got pregnant the first month! We are now 17 weeks along and hopefully will learn the sex Friday.
November was spent doing a lot (more) baby reading. December's focus was the Advent Conspiracy - a non-commercial Christmas focused on family and experiences.
This year will be very baby-focused, so I will be renaming the blog.
